Lately, I’ve been paying closer attention to the kinds of things people choose to share online. Here are some of the things that caught my attention.
-
People sharing Substack articles they enjoyed during the week and leaving small reviews about how the writing made them feel. Others talking about small local brands in their cities that make clothes or products that make you look "chic".
-
One video I came across suggested taking inspiration for your outfits from interior design instead of Pinterest or other people’s outfits. The idea was simple: find a room you really love and translate its colours, textures, prints, and mood into clothing. I thought that was brilliant. It made me think about how personal style can come from almost anywhere if you pay enough attention.

There’s also been a lot of conversation online around terms like “Pinterest prisoner,” “Pinterest victim,” and “clone fashion”, this growing feeling that everyone is beginning to look the same because we consume the same references over and over again. It has made me think more deeply about personal style, curating references carefully, and understanding why we are drawn to certain things in the first place.
